Verkaufsoffener Sonntag anlässlich des Leipziger Weihnachtsmarktes in der Leipziger Innenstadt. Die Verkaufsstellen dürfen zu verkaufsoffenen Sonntagen von 12 bis 18 Uhr öffnen. Die Geschäfte öffnen in der Regel in Leipzig an verkaufsoffenen Sonntagen von 13 bis 18 Uhr. Wir wünschen Ihnen viel Spaß beim Shopping.

Da erfahrungsgemäß insbesondere die Innenstadt zu verkaufsoffenen Sonntagen gut besucht ist, empfehlen wir die Nutzung der Park und Ride Parkplätze und den öffentlichen Personennahverkehr. Mit Hilfe des City-Tunnels können Sie zum Beispiel direkt bis zum Markt fahren und mitten im Gewimmel starten.

This advice service will be offered in German, English and Spanish.

"Good-quality work Leipzig". This project is offered by the team from "Arbeiten und Leben Sachsen e.V." (Living and Working in Saxony).

This project offers information about employment rights. It is aimed at migrants from outside the EU who live in Leipzig. Between 1pm and 5pm you can come to the Welcome Centre with questions about employment in Leipzig.

Topics include: unacceptable questions in a job interview, explanations of employment and training contracts and salaries.

This project is offered by the team from "Arbeiten und Leben Sachsen e.V." (Living and Working in Saxony). 

The aim of this project is to help migrants who moved to Leipzig to find employment suitable for their education. The project is aimed at: Teachers, academics, especially those trained in the Humanities, childcarers and people who would like to be self-employed. 

The project has two specific objectives: 

Orientation on the job market. Skills and personal career objectives, the job market in Saxony and how to find work in the region, how to use skills gained through volunteering in practice. 

Self-employment as an alternative? Self-employment as an alternative career option, legal conditions for starting a new business in Germany, first steps towards becoming self-employed.

The project "Mentors for the Job Market" is offered by Living and Working in Saxony e.V.

It offers support with aspects such as:

• Career orientation and advice
• Preparation for a job interview
• Checking of documents for job applications
• 1 to 1 individual career coaching

"Der Migrantinnen- und Migrantenbeirat berät die Stadtverwaltung und den Stadtrat zu Themen, die Migrantinnen und Migranten betreffen. Er fungiert als Sprachrohr für Menschen mit Migrationsgeschichte und bildet eine Brücke zur Stadtverwaltung und Kommunalpolitik.

 
In der Veranstaltung erfahren Sie alles über den Beirat und die Online-Wahl des Gremiums im April 2025. Außerdem berichtet Jana Rogozkina, Mitglied des Beirats, über ihre Erfahrungen im Gremium. Gemeinsam sprechen wir darüber, welche Rolle der Beirat in der Stadt spielt und warum es für Migrantinnen und Migranten wichtig ist, sich für dieses Gremium zu interessieren.

The Communal Energy Advice Service (KEB) from Caritas Leipzig e. V.informs and supports people with a low-income on how to save money on energy bills.
 
Topics of the advice service are:

• Saving electricity, warm water and heating.
• Answers to questions about energy costs, z.B. Contracts, tarifs, payment methods, payments
• Tips for saving electricity.

This offer is free, no registration is needed.
Video interpreters for many different languages are available in the Welcome Centre, so an interpreter is not needed.

Advice session for people with immigration history about finding a place to live. Topics include:
 
- searching for an apartment in Leipzig
-Rights and obligations in the rental relationship
-Discrimination in the neighbourhood
-Energy providers

No registration is necessary. An individual appointment for further advice is available at Kontaktstelle Wohnen.

Migrants who have questions about disabilities, care and participation can receive advice without prior appointment. 
 
An appointment for more detailed individual advice or help with applications is also available at the Welcome Centre.

"Der Verein organisiert seit sieben Jahren das Einsingen für Heiligabend in der Michaeliskirche auf dem Nordplatz in Leipzig. 

Es wird ein interessantes und kurzweiliges Mitmachprogramm zum Üben der Weihnachtslieder geben, ergänzt durch kleine Konzertanteile während der Singepausen.
Am selben Tag werden auch Spenden gesammelt, um am Weihnachtstag LKW-Fahrern auf verschiedenen Rastplätzen in der Umgebung von Leipzig ein Essen zu bieten."
