The language cafe offers a relaxed atmosphere to practise German and maybe learn some new words and phrases. There will be tea and coffee and children are also welcome.

In our workshop, you will learn what a great application letter should look like using real examples. We will look at the cover letter, the CV in tabular form and the overall structure of the application, including the attachments. We will use a checklist so that you can apply all the important details when writing your own application.

"The Sächsischer Flüchtlingsrat e.V. offers comprehensive support for people with a migration background. The counseling sessions take place on Wednesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. in German and English, without prior appointment.
Bureaucracy support:
- Assistance with contacting authorities, understanding letters, filling out forms and preparing answers.
- Help with applications for Bürgeld, child benefit and BAföG.
General support:
- Support with job search, application documents and contact with employers.
- Assistance with finding accommodation and preparing want ads.
Orientation counseling:
- Referral to specialized counseling centers.
These services aim to help new arrivals in particular to find their way around the German system."

"Good-quality work Leipzig". This project is offered by the team from "Arbeiten und Leben Sachsen e.V." (Living and Working in Saxony).

This project offers information about employment rights. It is aimed at migrants from outside the EU who live in Leipzig. Between 1pm and 5pm you can come to the Welcome Centre with questions about employment in Leipzig.

Topics include: unacceptable questions in a job interview, explanations of employment and training contracts and salaries.

This project is offered by the team from "Arbeiten und Leben Sachsen e.V." (Living and Working in Saxony). 

The aim of this project is to help migrants who moved to Leipzig to find employment suitable for their education. The project is aimed at: Teachers, academics, especially those trained in the Humanities, childcarers and people who would like to be self-employed. 

The project has two specific objectives: 

Orientation on the job market. Skills and personal career objectives, the job market in Saxony and how to find work in the region, how to use skills gained through volunteering in practice. 

Self-employment as an alternative? Self-employment as an alternative career option, legal conditions for starting a new business in Germany, first steps towards becoming self-employed.

The project "Mentors for the Job Market" is offered by Living and Working in Saxony e.V.

It offers support with aspects such as:

• Career orientation and advice
• Preparation for a job interview
• Checking of documents for job applications
• 1 to 1 individual career coaching

The weact contact and advice centre is aimed at people who are affected by racism and discrimination. We want to support those affected by providing low-threshold counselling services to help them deal with their experiences of racism and strengthen their ability to act through systemic support.

Depending on the number of people registered, the counselling session can last between 45 and 60 minutes. Counselling sessions are available in German, English, French, Spanish or Portuguese and our counselling is critical of power, intersectional, solidary and trusting.

Wie beeinflusst unser kultureller Hintergrund unseren Alltag, unser Arbeitsleben und unsere Kommunikation? In der Online-Trainingsreihe "Interkulturelle Snacks" beleuchten wir unterschiedliche Aspekte interkultureller Kommunikation.                        
 
Wie spricht man in verschiedenen Ländern miteinander? In manchen Kulturen sagt man direkt, was man denkt, in anderen drückt man sich lieber vorsichtig aus. In diesem Online-Training  lernst du,  was direkte und indirekte Kommunikation bedeutet. Du erfährst, wie man in unterschiedlichen Ländern miteinander spricht und wie du mit diesen Erkenntnissen im Beruf besser kommunizieren kannst.

Der Workshop wird von einer ausgebildeten Interkulturellen Trainerin geleitet. Wir werden Deutsch sprechen, du solltest also ein Deutsch-Niveau von mindestens B1 haben.

Memories and impressions of Greek emigrants from 1949/50 after the end of the civil war in Greece. Around 400 of them found a new home in Leipzig. After the fall of the junta in Greece, some of the former emigrants returned to their old homeland. But the memory of that time is still present - even in their lives.
