This documentary by Brenda Akele Jorde tells the story of a Mozambican contract worker in the GDR, Eulidio, and his daughter Sarah, who grows up with her mother in Berlin and meets her father when she is eleven. Straight away she feels a connection to their culture of origin and goes to spend time in Mozambique as an adult, where she is treated as a German while she faces racism in Germany. Akele Jorde’s debut documentary focuses on self-empowerment through art and was premiered at the DOK Festival 2022. It will be shown in German with English subtitles.
