On Friday 22. August, the Department for Migration and Integration, together with the Department for international Cooperation once again invites you to a diverse festival to celebrate Leipzig’s 15 city partnerships and international contacts.

The focus this year is on the partnership with Ho Chi Minh City, because Germany and Vietnam celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations in 2025. On this occasion, we are particularly looking forward to a concert by the band Saigon Soul Revival, who will be traveling from the Vietnamese twin city to delight the audience with their unmistakable sound. Numerous intercultural associations, initiatives and Leipzig’s town twinning associations will present their work and invite visitors to take part in creative hands-on activities for children and adults alike.

Leipzig Water Festival

15.– 17. August 2025

Various locations around the city

From 15. to 17. August, you are invited to take part in the 25. annual Water Festival in Leipzig. From the Weiße Elster river to the Karl-Heine Canal, the festival celebrates the waterways of Leipzig. There will be activities for children at various points around the city close to the water, including at Lindenauer Hafen and the city park Plagwitz. Join the festival to discover Leipzig from the water.
