The Tapetenwerk is an art area in the west of Leipzig. It is located in an old wallpaper factory in Lindenau. Since the factory had to file for insolvency, the halls became the property of today’s owners. After some renovation works they reopened at the first Tapetenwerkfest (Tapetenwerk festival) in April 2007. Ever since the old wallpaper factory has been a place where creative people can rent rooms for their work at a lower budget.

This autumn the 26th Tapetenwerkfest takes place at September 6. It traditionally opens the autumn gallery tour that lasts the whole weekend and welcomes visitors in the old factory. Different artists’, designers’ and architects’ works can be seen. Visitors get the chance to see exhibitions, be part of a vernissage, listen to music or have some delicious food and drinks in the inner courtyard of the factory. The festival starts at 5 p.m. on Friday and continues until midnight.
On Saturday and Sunday the galleries open again at 11 p.m.
