Cultural, intellectual, political lectures, workshops and exhibitions take place – even though the pandemic stops us from attending them in person. Here you can find a mixture of various events.

Lectures and presentations

The Freie Universität Berlin offers different academic lectures in English.

Topics such as decolonialization, migration and feminism are brought into focus by the Amsterdam Centre for European studies.

The Leipzig university offers free lectures focusing on various academic topics.

This website gives an overview of leftist-oriented events, workshops and lectures. Mostly in German.

Series of Lectures concerning the so-called “Arab Spring” are organized by the newly founded group “KIARA” (critical researcher of Arabic and Islamic studies). All lectures are hold in or translated to English.

The video format from the Konzeptwerk last year’s series of events “Zukunft für alle” (“future for all”) offers discussions concerning e.g. global freedom, social movements, solidarity as well as art. Many of the discussions are in English or English subtitles are available.


The Linke Medienakademie gives a series of Workshops and lectures about the use of media, which include journalistic work and working with programs (e.g. Photoshop). The events are hold from March 22 until March 26. Only in German.

Art and culture

This platform for adventurous music and arts released a virtual art festival and exhibition, available for streaming from February 13 to March 14.

The Opera Leipzig invites to a panel debate about its past and future. Only in German.

Various plays are available for streaming at the Schauspiel Leipzig’s website. The plays are in German, but English surtitles are accessible.

Book launch “Der weiße Fleck” on March 19 takes place with the author Mohamed Amjahid. How can we change our way of thinking concerning race and racism? The book concerns anti-racist thinking. The launch is only in German.
