Leipzig celebrates the 300th anniversary of Bach’s appointment as a cantor. Various events around the city take place within a cooperation of the St. Thomas Choir, Gewandhaus Orchestra, St. Thomas Church, St. Nicholas Church and Bach Archive Leipzig.

Johann Sebastian Bach’s works will be heard from June 8 to 18, 2023 under the motto “Bach for Future. Bach’s music will be presented in new contexts: With a large crowd of fantastic Bach Festival debutants, fresh formats and some surprising adaptations and reinterpretations of well-known works.
